Once again, I’m saturated with people who desire, above all,
- BRIGHT VIVID COLORS,
- CLEAN, STERILE SURFACES,
- SHINING PLASTIC FACADES,
- SMOOTHNESS WITH NO RIPPLES, NO MOUNDS,
- STRAIGHT LINES, SQUARES, RECTANGLES,
- ORDERLY ROWS UPON ROWS,
- FEATURELESS FLATNESS,
- LIGHTED TO BLIGHTED,
- MERCILESSLY MUNDANE,
- HERMETICALLY ANTISEPTIC.
This, of course, is Hell they are describing — human designed and engineered — brought to you compliments of primal terrors, encouraged by suburbanized American Protestant Fundamentalist Christian dogma. Not only is this utterly boring, it’s killing us all. Sorry, folks, even your own body requires bacteria and other microorganisms for healthy survival. Love mold, love fungi, too. Life depends on it…and a lot of other things you’re trying to eradicate with your clean, light, antiseptically bright fetishes.

Ah yes, hell is chaotic, heaven is orderly.
Nature is the id of the world, where violence and passion run wild!
Arent you lucky to not be living in the 17th century, when garden design was even more rigid than modern surburbia. A traquil order mind you…flat planes, still water and geometric shrubbery.
It was only in Victorian times that the English garden designers turned to a more naturalistic style.
Even more naturalistic is the aesthetic of the oriental garden, where trees are sculpted to appear even more wild than commonly found in nature.
Ive noticed a trend among the new high end houses going up around here. They are designed to be virtually zero maintenance…perfect for people raised by TV sets, who dont like getting their hands dirty.
These structures have no exterior paint, no grass and no dirt…at least not that you can see.
This follows some of the Japanese plans where ground cover is all moss, pebbles and pine needles.
Heres an example I shot last week down by the lake. Minimalistic elegance!

I edited your post to get the pictures to show, WheldonRumproastIII. Excellent example. And, yes, totally concur. It’s turning into a very sterile environment, and, yes, people raised by the TV just haven’t a clue. But, plastic fantastic is where it’s going…until it, the ecosystem, utterly fails. Then what are they gonna do? I cannot even fathom people who can’t figure out what to do when the electricity fails. Or who think their entire fake existence is real. Anyway…today is not a good day for me to be typing, simply because my brain is goo from this ugly cold/flu microphage attack my body is undergoing the last couple of days thanks to KIDS in schools whose floors are carpet and walls are cardboard so that there is no way to disinfect and clean them, and therefore the diseases just keep mutating and circulating, infecting us all.
