The more poor (poorer!) and downtrodden people are, the less they think/talk/act on things like politics, policy, etc...Control the people through depression and desperation (loss of jobs, inability to sustain lifestyle whether you have a job or not, etc...)
They're wiping out the middle class.

You know, I have to add/amend: Not just disenfranchise, but RUIN -- cause to lose their jobs, silence, "run out of town" (in this case, country).... In short, the U.S. becomes a tyranny where, "if you ain't with us, you're our enemy, and we'll destroy you."

I shudder to think if the American people vote this ticket into office in November. These people are bound and determined to disenfranchise anyone not supporting their policies.

I can't believe they're actually moving forward-she's formally accepting tonight and giving a speech. What a train wreck.

Husband and I just discussing this probability over the weekend, and I had a gripefest on my blog about it, too.

Obama's taking the high road, of course, and waving the 'family is off limits' banner. Can't say I blame him. He doesn't need to get his hands dirty on this one; plenty of people taking up the cause.

Family is off limits: Well, that depends. Didn't Palin invite us into HER children's personal business when she campaigned relentlessly to tell us we can't teach OUR children how to protect themselves against pregnancy and HIV in OUR children's schools, funded by OUR tax dollars?
Isn't she getting her shit ALL UP in OUR, and OUR daughters' business when she tells US policy should dictate what WE can and cannot do with their bodies? Isn't that family? Isn't that PERSONAL?

Bristol's pregnant: Uh huh. You bet. I'll bet Mama Palin never dreamed four months ago, when she swept her daughter's placenta under the rug and claimed that beautiful baby as her own, that she'd be campaigning for Veep right now. Never dreamed it would come back and bite her in the arse in such a big, big way.

Has anyone talked about what kind of EGO you'd have to have to believe you could get away with these kinds of deceptions (talking about firing of the safety commissioner, too, here). I suppose it'd be the kind of ego you'd have to have to think you could tell everyone else on the planet how to live their lives, what to teach their kids, what they can/can't do with their bodies, and what kind of god they're allowed to believe in-not to mention that they have to believe in any god at all.

As I said on my blog: Call me kooky, but I don't want this right-wing, fur-wearing, hypocritical nut anywhere NEAR the big house.
