They hate:

* anyone who has a different socio-political viewpoint
* anyone who has a lifestyle different than their own

* tolerance
* anyone to prosper except themselves and their select circle

This, of course, isn’t a comprehensive list.  Do feel free to contribute.

  1. The love fundamentalist religious views which include subjugation of women, anti-gay paranoia, belief in End Times, the existence of an Anti-Christ (Obama at this point), and the Rapture, which they are certain is reserved for them and their select circle.

    You’ve covered much of this under the Hate section, but I offer that much of the hate comes under religious marching orders from the likes of Glenn Beck.

  2. Hrm,

    I don’t find myself much attracted to any of those alleged ‘likes’.

    Likewise, most of my accused ‘hates’ don’t really seem to apply either.

    I find I tend to like and hate most of the same things as those with differing political views than my own.  Ultimately I find that when the rhetoric is peeled away and I can sit and talk with those on the “other side”, we tend to agree on the majority of the fundamentals, if not always the implementations.

    –shrug– I find that there is plenty of hatred on both sides to make those discussions harder and harder to come by.
