{"id":31,"date":"2007-06-21T11:03:22","date_gmt":"2007-06-21T18:03:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dlkeur.com\/dlkeur-blog\/2007\/06\/21\/flush-it\/"},"modified":"2024-07-02T18:38:35","modified_gmt":"2024-07-03T01:38:35","slug":"flush-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dlkeur.com\/dlkeur-blog\/grimace-and-giggle\/opinions-on-politics-culture-society\/flush-it\/","title":{"rendered":"Flush It!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Unwilling audience to a conversation, I got to listen to neighbors looking down their noses upon other neighbors.\u00a0 There is an eccentric couple who live on a corner nearby, and, though their property is well-kept, it isn&#8217;t pristine lawn and flowers planted nicely in\u00a0orderly rows.\u00a0 It&#8217;s artistic, with a rusty frog (purposely rusty) peering out at the world from a riotous flower planting,\u00a0driftwood and miscellany artfully attached to a purposely rustic fence, and, amongst other interesting touches, a disintegrating fiberglass bear set in such a way as to present an artistic statement.\u00a0 (The bear, by the way, was &#8220;original artwork&#8221; done for an exhibition and auction, compliments of\u00a0one of Sandpoint&#8217;s stupid tourist-draw marketing frenzies.) In other words,\u00a0their yard\u00a0isn&#8217;t tame, sterile, and &#8220;suburban plastic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I applaud these individuals on their choices.
